The Forgotten Warriors is a not for profit Texas corporation which was organized in 2009 for the sole purpose of raising money to send care packages to our troops overseas. 

Prior to forming The Forgotten Warriors, we would use our own resources to send care packages to soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.  It seemed as though everyone had a friend or relative who was in “need” of a care package, and it soon became obvious that if we were to continue with our project, we would have to do some kind of fund raising.

On July 4th 2009 we held our first benefit at Judy’s Rocks in Beaumont, Texas.  Although the turn-out was relatively small, with the help of the local community we were able to raise enough funds to send over 100 care packages.

I am a combat veteran, and although I know full well the horrors of war, looking back, it was being separated from my family and friends that bothered me most.

...the one thing I really looked forward to, aside from going home, was mail call.

A package from home was something special.  It didn’t matter whose package it was, everyone would gather around to see what was inside, cupcakes, cookies, candy, cakes, it didn’t matter, a little stale or hard as a rock, it didn’t matter, it was from “home” and you knew someone cared, and you knew you had something to go back to.
